TASCAM Presets: Nick Mac

The recording engineer and guitarist from Post Malone's Nirvana tribute shares his favorites

IK has more great news for TASCAM Tape Collection users and those that want to give it a try. We're continuing to partner with some incredible mixing and mastering engineers to create their own preset packs for the T-RackS TASCAM Tape Collection, which will be FREE for all IK TASCAM Tape Collection users.

This second pack comes from Chief Engineer for Electric Feel Studios, Nick Mac, who shares his love of TASCAM tape machines with custom-made presets for the TASCAM Tape Collection.

Nick Mac is the LA-based Chief Engineer of Electric Feel Entertainment Studios and Post Malone's Recording Engineer. In this preset pack, he's designed a variety to bring out the warmth and clarity in your mixes as he has achieved on Post Malone's hit song "Motley Crew" and working with artists like Tyla Yaweh, 24kGoldn, Iann Dior, Machine Gun Kelly, Yungblud, YG, Macklemore and Travis Barker.

For drums and vocals, I usually choose a plug-in or hardware piece that enhances, but also tightens whatever source I'm working with. I've found the TEAC A-3340S is great for warming and enhancing lead vocals, tightening a drum bus, and bringing out character hidden in the source material.

This preset pack from Nick Mac is a great way to learn how he uses TASCAM and TEAC analog tape machines to shape and color sound.
