IK Multimedia releases eight new Sound Libraries for SampleTank featuring experimental and alternative sounds.

Of the eight individual libraries, five are also bundled together as Mojo Synthesis, a collection developed and produced by IK’s Erik Norlander. The three other libraries being released feature experimental saxophone sounds, an innovative and hybrid drum kit, and a new synth for Syntronik, based on the famous Elka Synthex.

A Cinematic Synth Collection

Mojo Synthesis combines five of the new SampleTank sound libraries, each created by Erik Norlander using advanced and experimental techniques on his personal collection of vintage synthesizers. The results are astonishing new synth sounds that can’t be found anywhere else, not even in Syntronik. Also sold separately, the five included libraries are as follows:

Alien Harbours delivers a cinematic collection of atmospheres, pads and sweeps created using elaborate full patch samples from the Oberheim Matrix12, Sequential Prophet-VS and Prophet-5, Waldorf Microwave I Rev A, Korg DW-8000 and Alesis Andromeda. Also included are bonus leads and bass presets.

Circuit Damage contains a beautifully flawed collection of carefully curated hardware synthesizers in dire need of repair and calibration. Delightfully unpredictable, Circuit Damage is the perfect collection for creating edgy, vibey synthesizer tracks where grit and chaos add weight and drama.

Ring of Doom is a library of all ring modulation synth sounds with a metallic, robotic quality and even a menacing, sci-fi sound. Ring modulation is a form of amplitude modulation where two signals are combined, and the output is both the sum and difference of their frequencies. The result creates wild sideband frequencies like nothing else.

Swarm features samples of all 22 oscillators from the Norlander Wall of Doom modular Moog synthesizer with both sawtooth and sine wave outputs, and then dynamically detunes them in equidistant intervals to create the haunting and eerie soundscape of dreams and nightmares.

Vector Vision brings vector synthesis to SampleTank in an animated, motion-filled library of presets that recreates the sound of “vector synthesis” made famous by the Sequential Prophet-VS and Yamaha SY22, which were the next generation of wavetable-based synths like PPG Wave and subsequent Waldorf products.

Three More Virtual Instrument Titles

Extraterrestrial Saxophone explores a new sonic universe, combining fascinating saxophone techniques with beautiful analog reverbs and delays. Every sound is originated from different outstanding saxophone techniques, played by Severin Neubauer on baritone and alto sax, to extend the instruments range across the whole keyboard.

Bionic Drums is a special drum library for SampleTank 4 that combines a modern acoustic rock kit with “bionic” layered elements to add the essential point, punch and girth needed for modern pop, rock and metal productions. All the essential sounds plus 600+ MIDI patterns are here to cover everything from '70s disco to modern prog metal.

Syntronik Synth-X is the latest new synth for Syntronik 2 which like all Syntronik instruments works equally as a library inside SampleTank 4. Based on the Elka Synthex, the Italian monster polysynth manufactured in the early '80s, its wonderful variety of pads, sweeps, leads and basses make it a go-to favorite for the world's most famous synth artists, often fetching well over $10,000 when rare units are up for sale.
