AskAudio has presented this year's ranking of the very best iOS apps for musicians and producers right now and they absolutely rave about IK's Syntronik for iPhone/iPad. Here are some of the comments from the expert reviewer, Hollin Jones.
"IK has really upped its game when it comes to building iOS apps, and Syntronik may just be its most accomplished to date. Free to download with optional purchases to add more synths, it features a possible total of 17 instruments that are able to recreate the sound of 38 vintage synthesisers. With 4 parts to layer together and a comprehensive FX section consisting of 37 processors, it’s hugely configurable but also great fun to play with - intuitive and beautifully designed. The instruments work as Audio Units in other iOS DAWs and there’s a total of 1200 presets, four circuit modelled filters and DRIFT technology to simulate the real behaviour of analog circuits."
And here are some quotes from AskAudio's original review of Syntronik.
"Before you even press a key, you can see the love. A lot of time went into Syntronik. It’s not just in the sound, it’s in the GUI, the presentation and the environment as a whole."
"So damn beautiful on a Retina display, I swear I’m playing a real Juno-60."
"Syntronik is also a little bit of a mini-studio in itself. There’s an effect page that looks like
a four space Euro Rack case and 38 ‘modules’ that really, really make a huge difference on the sound and feel of the synths within."
"The arpeggiator works like a classic arpeggiator, but can also act as a sequencer, where you can program custom patterns which pitch with the keys pressed. Because you can stack arps, things can get very crazy in one patch or one set!"
"People really should be excited about Syntronik. It gives you an amazing sound upfront that can be fully modified to suit your own style. Built upon some of the coolest synths ever, the sound and the mood is there."
